Carla was interested in getting to know Gino some more.
-------------------------------------------
"Watcha making there Carla?" Gino asks, coming up to her in the kitchen.
"I'm making chips and salsa"
"Delicious."
"Ya, Joey taught me how to make it, properly."
"That's nice of him to help you out."
"Ya, he's been doing that a lot lately."
"I did hear about him protecting you from....Hayden."
"Oh...the whole world heard." Carla said, hanging her head in embarrassment.
"Sorry, I shouldn't have brought it up."
"It's fine. So Gino, I wanna get to know you more."
"Me?"
"Ya, you're such a sweet guy and I thought I'd find out a bit more about you."
"Sure what would you like to know?"
"How about we finish making our dinner and we can sit and talk."
"Sounds good to me." Gino nodded, smiling.
"So what are you in for Gino? You seem too sweet to be here." Carla said, giving him a look of concern.
"Well, actually I am too sweet to be here, to be honest." He turned his gaze away from hers. "I watched my mother die by the hands of my father so I killed him."
"You shouldn't be here."
"I know, I shouldn't be either."
There was a long pause, not a sound to be heard.
"I'm so sorry Gino." Carla said, resting her hand on his knee.
"Thank you."
"How about we uh, turn on the tv and watch something while we eat?"
"Sounds good, bingo's on."
They got down to eating and continued casual chit chat.
After their meal together Carla went for a shower.
"I feel so bad for Gino, he did what anybody would do....what I would."
She sighed deeply, letting the water hit her face.
"If anybody here is innocent of anything, it's Gino. I mean killing is wrong, even I know that and I've done it and yes I'm wrong but to lose your mom, is the worst of all."
Her head was beginning to pound, thinking of losing her mother.
"I wanna ask the Warden to pass a letter to my mom."
