Asylum Challenge #123: Self Sabotage.

Darwin finishes up his letter and joins Joey for chess. Joey airs out his worries within and with Carla.

---------------------------------------------------------

"Hey, mind if I join you?" Darwin asks.

"Go ahead." Joey nods.

Darwin pulls up a chair and they get right into their game.

"So how are you?" Darwin asks.

"I've been at war." He confesses.

"As have I, of a family nature though."

"Sorry to hear that."

"Thanks but hey? What's on your mind?"

"I told her how I felt and I don't know if I regret it." Joey explains.

"Well? You gotta weigh the pro's and the con's of telling her. Ask yourself what is the worst that can happen, you know?"

"Hmm." He hummed, trying to focus on the board.

"Do you trust her? THAT you must ask yourself." Darwin says, tapping his foot impatiently.

There was a long pause, the game was even at a stand still.

Joey had no words to say right now, his mind was racing as well as his heart.

Darwin inhaled sharply and said: "Life is about taking risks, doing stuff that scares you. Sometimes that little voice is wrong and sometimes that little voice is just self sabotaging. Only your gut can tell you where to go or what to do but don't forget it's there; just because you can hear the anxiety from within."
