Carla helps tend Joey's wounds, it gives them at time to be alone again.

"Thank you dear." Joey beams, as she helps with his bandages.
"Of course." She giggled, "I wouldn't let you go without a little TLC."
"You're so sweet to me."
"Well ya, you've done nothing wrong, I have no reason not to." Carla says, smiling warmly.
"Actually, that's not true."
She looked at him nervous, "why? What have you done wrong?"
"I wanna talk about why Hayden and I got into a fight......twice."
"He swung first I heard, so I don't think you're to blame."
Joey curled in his lips, "Actually.....he did swing first but it was my fault."
"Joey, what did you do?"
There was a long pause.
"What did you do?" She asked again, sternly.
"I told him everything and I was very spiteful about it....."
"Joey...." She shook her head.
"I know."
"I don't want you to be spiteful towards him, he may not be a great guy but you are.....this says a lot about you as a person."
"I'm sorry."
"Don't be sorry to me....be sorry to him and yourself. You are grown men and sure he acts like a huge fucking child but both of you are capable of being good guys...I believe that and you cannot reach that low if you wanna continue to be."
"I know, I just have a lot of spite built up....I still hold onto so much and a lot of the spite I feel is not just for men getting in between me and my feelings but the spite I feel for myself....I wish I was better."
