Asylum Challenge #188: Start Fresh, Start Honest.

Carla wakes up and hurries to see the Warden before anybody else wakes up.

"You may enter." The Warden calls out to her.

Carla opens the door and bows, "I'm here to speak to you about my mother."

"Alright, go ahead and take a seat." She beckons her.

She takes a seat and sighs deeply.

"So, what is it about your mother you'd like to speak to ME about?" 

"Well you and I had discussed my child going to someone if and until I get out and can take them."

"Yes and?" She asks, raising a brow.

"I was unsure if my mother could be that person."

"I'm surprised to hear that, knowing what I know." The Warden says, scratching her head. "Do you think that's a good idea?"

"I'm not sure, I was hoping to bounce the idea off of you." Carla explained.

"Well remember the life your mother gave you, how she wasn't much a mother to you and neglected you in your time of need?"

"I do remember of course."

"Well what has changed?"

Carla curled in her lips, "I had been writing back and forth with my mother and she deeply apologized and had even found the evidence she had needed to see."

"Do you believe she's sorry?"

"I do."

"Do you believe she has changed for the better?"

"I do."

"Well, have you even told her about the baby or even your relationship with Joey?"

"I didn't mention the pregnancy to her as of yet, though her and I had talked about a future for him and I."

"She felt you were rushing it huh?" She asked, taking a sip of her coffee.

"Yes."

"I take it then you have contemplated both telling her and NOT telling her?"

"I have and I'm a little bit at war."

"That's understandable."

Carla sighs, "I wanted to keep it from her to save her from being disappointed in me again but I don't want to start a new with her in a bed of lies."

"Ya, you do wanna start fresh, start honest."

She nodded and bit her lip.

"So, think about it and return to me when you're ready to decide." The Warden says, taking another drink.

"Alright, I'll sleep on it and be back with you once I have it all figured out." She said, pulling up from her chair.

"I'll be here." She said, laughing.
