A few years pass and Anne feels it's time to make a very important decision.
-----------------------
"Hey babe." Anne says coming into the bedroom, as Saanvi wakes from a nap.
"Hey." She beams.
"I wanted to talk to you, ask you something."
Anne gets down on one knee.
"W-what are you doing?"
"Will you marry me Saanvi?" She asked, holding out a ring.
She stands there a moment, no expression on her face.
"Saanvi?"
"I don't think we should get married."
"I'm sorry."
"But why not?"
"We should save the money, for our potential child and for your....funeral you know. I also don't know if we should sign any papers when we don't know how much time you have left."
Anne replayed that in her minute, the whole world stood still. Save for your funeral, save for your funeral, save for your funeral; it was like deja vu.
"I guess you're right." She hums, tucking the ring back in her pocket.
"I'm sorry my love but this won't change how I feel for you; could you say the same?"
Anne stands, dropping her head. "Yes, I could say the same...I still love you."
"Are you sure? I don't want you to feel you-"
"I said what I said and I meant it." Anne interrupts, pulling Saanvi in for a hug.
Anne was telling the truth but she knew this rejection would hurt for a while, she was hoping to get married just in case she was running out of time but Saanvi was right to consider that a reason not to.
