Asylum Challenge #78: Drop The Bomb.

Darwin decides it's time to open up and tell Gino the truth.

--------------------------------------------------

"Good morning babe." Darwin said, poking his head into the room.

"Good morning." Gino sat up in bed, smiling. He kicked out of the covers and pulled himself across the sheets. He lazily sits on the edge of the bed and looks up at him with a groggy face.

'Aww you're adorable." He gushed. He entered the room and stood before him. "We should talk."

"Uh oh....that doesn't sound good. Are we okay?" Gino asked nervously.

"We are fine, I hope."

"Well what is it?"

Darwin took a deep sigh, "you know why I'm here right?"

"Yes, you said you went delirious with the flu and you ended up burning down the local arcade." Gino recalled.

"It's not true, I mean I once was sick with the flu and hallucinated that it was burning down but it wasn't actually."

"I'm confused, what did you do then?" Gino asked, raising a brow.

"Let me explain....." Darwin curled in his lips and exhaled deeply through his nose. "I have a split personality and my personality ran an overnight child sweat shop. I had no control over this other personality of mine, he came out at night when the work would go down. I often struggle to keep him at bay, so I let him out at night still."

Gino held his head, "holy fuck that's a lot to take in...."

"I know and I didn't know how to tell you or if I was going to tell you." He admitted, "I didn't know how you would take it and how you would still feel for me, if you would."

There was a long silence.

"I'm sorry."

"Don't be sorry, I'm just trying to take it all in."

"I know...it's a lot."

"It won't be easy but I want to support you, both of you."

"You do?"

Gino sighed, "I do."

"You don't sound so sure, I don't want you to do it if you don't really want to." Darwin said, biting his lip.

"No no, I just am overwhelmed."

"I am too."

"I can't imagine."

They looked up from their laps and their eyes met, a smile spread across Gino's face and his smile caused Darwin's smile to follow suit.

Darwin leaned down for a kiss and their lips met. Tears welled up in his eyes, as they parted.

"Why are you crying?!"

"I've just been waiting all my life for someone to support me."

"Well, here I am."
