Asylum Challenge #95: His Soft Side.

After the difficult talk, Joey opens up about his favourite hobby.

--------------------------------------------

"Now that the painful stuff has been discussed. Let's lighten it up a bit, tell me your hobbies and stuff?" Carla asked, smiling nervously; unsure if they could come down from that kinda thing.

"Sure, as long as you don't laugh at me." Joey said, a pink blush spread across his face.

"Why on earth would I laugh at you?" She asked, raising a brow.

"I love knitting."

"Knitting?"

"Ya, I find it soothing. I could knit here but Hayden wouldn't let me live it down."

"He wouldn't. What do you knit?"

"I would knit anything: hats, socks, slippers, blankets, pillow cases, table cloths, bathing suits, baby clothes, tops, shorts, you name it."

"That's amazing."

"Ya, I spent a lot of time knitting, I learned it from my grandmother, I taught a bit of it to my mom but her eyesight isn't as good anymore so I mostly knitted things for her instead of her knitting for me."

"How adorable of you."

"It gets even more "adorable as you call it."

"Oh?" Carla asked, looking at him the utmost curious.

"The hospital where my brother stayed, I knitted babies clothing for them." He confessed.

Her mouth dropped open, tears welling up in her eyes. "That's the cutest thing I've ever heard."

"Thank you."

"You shouldn't give up knitting."

"Maybe I'll ask the warden to lock me in solitary so I can knit."

"You'd go to that length?"

"Where else would I hide?"

"Behind the asylum? or sit out on the outskirts, on the other side of the hedges."

"That's clever. I could knit there ya, thanks Carla." He beamed.

"That's where I'd go to....be alone." Carla said, focusing her gaze away from him.

"Is that suggestive?! Or no....?!" He asked, slightly shocked.
