Asylum Challenge #156: Before You Go.

Just before Hayden goes back into solitary, Petal gets him in the kitchen.

"Hey I heard...." Petal says, standing behind Hayden at the kitchen counter.

"Oh? That' I'm going back into solitary?" He asks, turning to face her.

"Yes."

"And?"

"I just wanted to talk to you before you go in." She explains.

"You wanted to talk to me about what?"

"Well, I just want you know to that I've been there, where you are right now and it's a very painful thing....unrequited love."

"How did you cope?" He asked.

"I never really did.....I heard it takes a long time though."

"Oh, that's awful news."

"I have faith we will both survive though, don't lose hope on becoming okay again, just remember there was a time before them that you were surviving and you did an amazing job...you can do it again when the hard part is over." Petal says, taking a deep sigh. She struggled to take her own advice.

"I never thought of it that way." He says, humming.

"Well I hope it'll help."

"Thanks a lot Petal, I'm glad we had this talk."

"I'm glad we did too." She beamed, "hey do you mind if we hug?"

"Uh....."He stood there a moment, taken aback, "Uh, I haven't hugged a woman in a long time."

"Sorry, forget it." She sighed.

He grew wide eyed, not meaning to upset her."Oh no, I want to I'm just scared...."

"Of what?"

"I don't know....."
