Asylum Challenge #157: Guilt.

Joey heads out to the pool to talk to Darwin.

----------------------------

"Hey man, you got a minute to talk?" Joey asks, approaching the poolside.

"Sure, what's up?" Darwin asks, stopping his late-night swim.

"I feel guilty....." He says, curling in his lips.

"About what?"

"This whole thing with Hayden and Carla...."

"You do? Why do YOU feel guilty?" He asks, raising a brow.

"I've been too spiteful, I probably wished Hayden to be as angry and upset as he is but I never thought he would've ended up this way."

"You do have a habit of doing things like this Joey...." Darwin admits.

He takes a deep sigh, "I know and I probably shouldn't have this time. I honestly am part to blame for why he's crazy....crazier. I'm part to blame why he put himself in solitary, on his own accord. How low do you go to wanna be in solitary?"

"Well it's not just you, it's Carla and it's mostly Hayden himself, only he can account and be held accountable for the way he feels and acts." He explains.

"Ya but I sure haven't been helping. And to think I put Carla at risk.....who knows what would happen because I drove this man even more insane than he was before."

Darwin paused a long moment, "I didn't think of it that way, Carla really could be in danger...she could or could've ended up just like-"

"I know...." Joey takes a seat on the pool's edge. "I think I should talk to him...."

"You sure that's a good idea?"

"Better now than later....when he could attack me."

"He could always attack you when he gets out."

"Ya but it'll give him time to cool off and think about everything." He says, scratching the back of his head.

"Okay, go ahead then...and good luck." Darwin nods, returning to his swim.
