Asylum Challenge #164: She's Sorry.

Carla sits down with the letter, she's nervous as all hell to read it.

---------------------------------------------

"Dear Carla,

I'm a little surprised to hear from you, as you are likely surprised to hear from me. I know after you were hauled away, I wasn't there for you. I honestly didn't believe a word of what I thought were lies, that this man you had married was anything but amazing. I honestly felt you acted out and didn't do any of this to protect yourself but to get rid of him. It wasn't until I started going through your things after you left, that I had found the evidence I needed; to be on your side. I was awful to you and I left you alone when you needed me the most. I found all the pictures and videotapes, with all the traumatic events upon them and it broke my heart. I was protecting the wrong person, I was foolish, I was blind. If you never forgive me, I would understand because I was no mother to you. I should've been better, done better and I don't know why I fell into the wrong side of the truth, of you but I did and I am so very very sorry, from the bottom of my heart.

I still love you, even if it doesn't feel like it.

Sincerely,

Mother."
